Working Utopias is a collaboration between organisation researcher Anke Strauß and choreographer Christina Ciupke.
It researches artist‐run organizations of today and the past to examine collaboration under conditions of highly individualized work regimes. It thereby aims at re‐examining modes of operation with regard to their social rather than individual dimension. Re‐examining artists’ ways of organizing their work‐lives also seeks to negotiate the potential of these organizing practices for developing utopian imaginaries based upon solidarity that could become adopted by a wider audience of cultural workers.
Artist-run organisations visited (so far):
Agora (Berlin), Autobahn (Rosazza, IT), Betonest (Stolpe), Critical Concrete (Porto, PT), KuLe (Berlin), Ponderosa (Stolzenhagen), PAF (St.Érme, FR), Zentralwerk (Dresden).
